What kinds of commissions do you do?

 

 - I undertake a handful of commissions each  year, depending on how busy I am with my own artworks and schedule. These commissions will generally be pet or people portraits in pencil, or oil paintings of favourite landscapes, animals, celebrities, or abstract ideas

 

What kind of commissions DON'T you do?

 

- I don't paint portraits of people or children in oil paints - just pencil drawings only

- I don't paint or draw buildings (sorry, just not my thing)

- Please don't be offended if I'm not able to fulfil your request as this may be due to time limitations or unsuitable       subject matter

How long does a commission take?

​

- Please allow 4-6 weeks for a commission as an absolute minimum. During busy times, such as September - December, this can increase significantly! Basically, allow as much time as possible. I may be working on other commissions before I can start yours, and if it's a painting, it also has to have drying time before and after varnishing

What's the process for a commission?

​

- Firstly, fill in the enquiry form below, email sam@justsambee.com with your idea, or drop me a DM on Instagram (@just_sambee_art). Once we've ironed out the basics, I'll draw up a quote for you and send it over, so that we both have an official record of your commission request

- If you read through the quote and want to go ahead, I require a 50% deposit to secure the commission in my diary

​

- I'll keep you informed of the timeframe on a regular basis

​

- Once the painting or drawing is finished, I'll send you photos and videos so that you can approve it or ask for alterations. Once it's approved, the 50% balance payment is due, and I will then arrange courier or personal delivery with you (UK delivery only)

- Delivery charges are almost always included in the price quoted, but this will be clarified in the quote

​

How much do they cost?

​

​- If you've commissioned a pencil drawing, I generally draw these on A2 heavyweight cartridge paper, and it will be delivered to you in a bespoke A2-size presentation folder; prices start at £475

​

- If you've commissioned an oil painting, we will discuss the size of the canvas beforehand, but these generally start at around £850 for a small canvas. Oil paintings take 2-4 weeks to dry so please allow as much time as possible for the finished piece to be delivered. If you live within the North West of England, I'll endeavour to deliver the painting myself, but for elsewhere in the UK, delivery will be via a specialist courier. ​​
